Hold Me Now is undeniably a WAY better song, but Crush On You is sooooooooo 80s. Everything about it -- including its repetitiveness and suckiness -- just makes me think banana clips, neon, & big hair. I really wish I could have thrown my vote to the Thompson Twins, but I just couldn't. (And I'm so sad for the comparison of The Jets to The Killers in the comments. I love The Killers, despite the magic underwear.)
Check out the "Crush" video. While watching it, try to come up with a note to try to make it MORE 80s. You will end the video with a blank tablet, because it is PEAK 80s!
This episode inspired me to listen to "Into the Gap" in its entirety for the first time, and dang, Joe, you're right: It's really good! Voting "Hold Me Now" because while "Crush On You" is extreeeeemely '80s and you made an excellent case, I don't think it's a Trapper Keeper - it's a K-Mart Lisa Frank knockoff. It's a sticker collection that's all scratch, no sniff (whatever that means).
Oh hey, no problem, that's why we play them, and put them up on Spotify, for anyone who just missed the songs completely, the way Joe missed "I Ran (So Far Away)" 😂
I know it's not supposed to be about which song you like the most, but good god I can't have another episode where I have to endure even another few seconds of that god awful Crush on You. Mormons make the worst damn music no matter which decade they're from (Osmonds, The Jets, The Killers, Imagine Dragons, there is no end to the suck)

Oh, I've seen that video and as a result, I'm declining that challenge. Impossible to make it any more 80s!

Now I am gonna have to listen to it, too! But I already voted for "Crush."
John: "All scratch, no sniff" 😂 Well done! 👏

Damn those jets are HOT
X)
Wax, did "Crush on You" make it to your side of the pond?
I gotta be honest, I don't know quite a few of these, but as I was born in '80 the chances are I just missed them.

Listen, man, if we have to listen to that shit, so do you.

😂 😂 If they advance, I will put a ⚠️ Deni warning ⚠️ on the episode!
