Mony Mony is more of a classic rock song as opposed to 80's, so Jody gets it. Very 80's.

Oh, and fuck anyone who voted for Trump.

If you mean that Idol himself is 80-ish years old in this performance, you nailed it! 😝 --Keith

I think when I loaded the page it clicked on (and voted for) Billy Idol, which I wouldn't have done - stadium punk just ain't it 😆 Plus, Looking for a New Love is a decent jam.

I am a little surprised it was Idol's only #1 song, I always think of White Wedding, Rebel Yell, or Eyes Without a Face as his big songs but only the last one charted very high (I looked it up after you said Mony Mony was his only #1). I should have realized, Mony Mony was the first time any of the butt rock dumbshits at my high school heard of him.

But Dancing With Myself will always be near and dear to me. The first song of his I heard and of course got lots of play in the teen clubs, especially in the suburbs.

I still say that Billy Idol is not punk rock. The only punk thing about him is his look (spiked hair, leather jacket) and the drug addiction. He's a pretty straightforward rock and roll guy.
