There’s a Sara Bareilles song called Hold My Heart. The lyrics are “Does anybody know how to hold my heart? Because I don’t wanna let go, let go, let go too soon.” I love Sara B and it’s a fine song. But one day I started singing it “Does anybody know how to hold my fart?” Cause I don’t wanna let go, let go, let go too soon.” Now I can’t sing it the right way but I’d like to think if I could share this story with her that she’d laugh.
Anyways, I voted for Stacey Q (even without a Weird Al cover).
I definitely remember and liked Perfect Way better than Two of Hearts, but agree that Two of Hearts is more 80s.
But how can Ohioan and games-loving Keith NOT know how to play euchre?!? That's unbelievable. Euchre is so Ohio, so midwest -- how you managed to not even know how to play euchre is beyond me.
When we encountered people who wanted to play Euchre in college, we taught them 500 instead. And people seemed to prefer it. We will have to play it next time we get together!!
Oof, I have to question Joe's sanity for all of the Scritti Politti hate. You just don't get it. That makes me sad. I just got a Japanese pressing of the album while crate digging in Kyoto. That band is awesome and their work is very varied.
By the way, that one reviewer was an outlier, that Scritti Politti record was widely given positive reviews by the critics. (Also, the 85 has always been in the title of the album)
Stacey Q was played in a very different kind of dance club than the ones I went to. (Perfect Way did get some play in my clubs) Two of Hearts would have been played in clubs where someone like The Breakfast Club's Clare would have gone, my clubs were more likely to have an Allison.
You're probably right, Two of Hearts is more 80s than Perfect Way. But damn I don't want to have to hear any more of that vile shit in the coming weeks of it moves on. Stacey Q is at Tiffany and Debbie Gibson level of terrible.
And there we have it. I could not have predicted which way Deni would fall on this, but I would've probably leaned more toward Two of Hearts. I was mistaken.
Your clubs sound awesome! I don't think I could have enjoyed the stereotypical dance club, even if I found some of the songs catchy, etc. But since we had zero clubs available nearby, I didn't really have to worry about it!

I can help you produce the parody version, if you want to send it yo Sara! --K 💨

Growing up near the PA line, both Marcia and I were taught the game 500 by our parents:

What can I say? Stacey's dance moves and diva attitude got me!
She's got it all, as long as you aren't interested in overwhelming talent! 😂 --K
Wow. They both ooooooze 80's (secrete? emanate? seep?). They both suck, but gotta go with Stacy Q.
This one did end up tougher than I expected. And let's go with "secrete." 😂 --K

We could always take a boom box to a field and dance with cows.
"Dance" with cows? That's a pretty thin euphemism.
