Wait, where's my bro Chris DeBurgh? 🤪I'm starting my summer vacation today, so I won't be spending that much time online, but I'll surely be voting. Have a great holiday season, you guys!
As a club denizen of the 80s these are both easy. Both If You Leave and Send Me An Angel were big tracks at the clubs. OMD are one of the great dance bands of the era and an incredible live show. They are one of my favorite bands and after the *classic* lineup got back together in about 2009 or 2010 have put out several fantastic albums. (But I still didn't vote in that first round matchup, refused to vote against Psychedelic Furs).
As much as I love If You Leave it is not even close to being a favorite OMD song for me. Their list of awesome songs goes deep.
I do have one of the albums that Send Me An Angel is on. (I think they put it on all their records) Real Life blew their load on that one, it's pretty much the only song worth listening to.
I agree, even as NOT a club denizen. They are better songs, AND more 80s songs! I laughed out loud at “Real Life blew their load on that one…” 😂 True statement, but man I do love that song! —Keith
Dirty Dancing as a cultural phenomenon is probably an understatement. I was working at the only video store in the shitty suburb my mother forced us to move to before my senior year of high school (Jed's Video in Lake Zurich, IL) and Dirty Dancing came out on video while I was there. Holy crap the run on renting that tape was insane. My boss started off with like 8 copies but that was not enough, he ordered like 4 more to try to keep up with demand.
Oh, wow! I didn’t realize the extent of it on VHS! Sorry you had to go through that in real life, just to be able to report to us now about this phenomenon. —Keith

SUMMER! Wishing you a great holiday season, also, Alejandro!! I was so sad to see DeBurgh leave the bracket! Hahaha! Have a great vacation! —Keith

I love the comment, "At This Moment's not so bad." A ringing endorsement.
And yet, it appears to have gotten a vote! Fucking shocked, am I.
That is a head scratcher. Maybe just to spite you after the 100-0 prediction.
I think this had to be what happened! Someone messing with us! —K
Truly the best thing I had to say about it. I don’t hate it…it’s not so bad!
I can't deny that I agree, AND that I don't know who I will choose between these two!
