I had to take a break in the middle. Just so much bad music. Ick.

I think all those "White" bands from back then should have just merged to keep them straight. It would be like Great White Lion Snake.

Dr. Feelgood is a good song, but you didn’t pick my favorite, which is “Kickstart My Heart.” Damn, I rocked hard to that song in my car a lot. Probably should have pulled over. lol. And, “Smoking in the Boys’ Room” is huge for me experimentally.

Lita Ford. Meh. But, her duet with Ozzy is one of my favorite metal ballads of all time.

"If I Close My Eyes Forever" is a classic of the genre.

Regarding the Crüe, I believe I had originally penciled in "Kickstart," with Feelgood second, but when Joe had "Dr. Feelgood" as his Crue track, I was happy to compromise on that one. Yes, I just checked the Hair ranking notes, and that was the case.

"Kickstart" was definitely aimed directly at adrenaline junkies!

Thanks for putting in the time to catch up on Side B, Meg!

Never heard that Anthrax song before. Kinda like it, Sam Kinnison not withstanding. I hated him. But this is not hair metal, it straight up HEAVY METAL, and the band could even be considered thrash metal (?)

I agree with the assessment of the genre. Liked Anthrax, but definitely not a hair band. In the lyrics they even call themselves out: "Yo, a heavy metal band raps a different way...". Kinnison is problematic by most standards, but at the time I did laugh at some of his stuff, as one-note as it may have been. --Keith

I liked a little of Kinnison early on, but later all he did was snort cocaine and be a fat pig misogynist.

Meant to bring this up during the show, but forgot: Did Crüe fans of long-standing consider Dr. Feelgood to be something of a sell-out album?

I actually had this discussion randomly with our friend Randy this weekend, how he was into the Crüe until Girls Girls Girls and Dr. Feelgood. he didn't use the term "sell out," but he felt like they went "pop."

The first matchup was a no-brainer, but not my favorite song. Wait for the win.

The second matchup -- Lita deserved better than to face Dr. Feelgood so early, but so it goes -- I'm going with Dr. Feelgood, so 80s.

Yeah, White Lion could go 100-0 here just because of being kinda in the wrong genre? I dunno. Lita should have been a middle seed, I agree. But here we are.
