So I don't think I'd ever heard Word Up! before its appearance on the show. And I really thought I'd go What's On Your Mind because it does really take me back to the 80s. But I gotta say, listening to Word Up! again (and the video!) swayed me. It's just stupidly catchy! And I can't stop imagining Cedric reenacting the video. 😂

Not specifically related to this round: What song is the clip from where Joe says (seemingly a little reluctantly?) "I love this song!" and Keith says "That's awesome, man!"? That's my favorite clip you use, I don't know why, lol.

That clip is from "The Final Countdown" by Europe! 😂

Roseanne was actually a very good show at the time. Unfortunately, Roseanne Barr was as uncouth in IRL as she was on the show.

I am hearing this from multiple sources, so i trust that it was decent.

Can they both lose?

Oof, Joanie Loves Chachi, that is some serious stank. The theme song is pretty bad too.

Wow, I can say I have not heard that theme, now will go seek it out!

Back in the 90s I had no memory of the theme song, but then Joe's and my mutual friend Carrie - who we were in a theatre company with - one day said she could sing the theme song form Joanie Loves Chachi. And she sang the whole thing for us. That's how I can even remember the song.

I have absolutely no memory of that. And I'm so glad.

I don't know how you could forget that (except for maybe the fact that we smoked a lot of weed back then). We all stood there mouth agape wondering why the hell someone would know all the words to that song. God love Carrie, but wow.

I asked her a few years ago and she can no longer remember it.

I can't believe after all the great stuff in this bracket that we've come down to these two garbage songs. Ick.

There it is.

That was to be expected, right?

But I have not ALWAYS voted for the song or band I like the most. I voted against OMD and A-ha, for example, for songs I don't like as much. But I would say I tend to vote against songs I particularly hate, no matter what I think about their 80s-est credentials.
