No, I didn't have the soundtrack. Yes, I loved the movie, propoganda notwithstanding. Don't judge, baby brother. I still say it's not actual melodrama.

Fuck Toto.

Ray-Bans.

I have very clear memories of you and your boyfriend at the time loving this movie. Not judging, because we all have different taste. It's a very well-made hunk of jingoism and, again, it really captures the feeling of being alive in Reagan's America.

I'm not interested in Rad because of Send Me an Angel, but because like Keith I do love comically bad films. I've watched Grease 2 so many times ...

Grease 2 was in heavy rotation in my HBO years, so I, also watched it a lot. But I have not revisited it in the decades since.

I'm probably with you on the Berlin choice too. I'm surprised you guys didn't mention their song The Metro. I'd say that is probably the most loved track among Berlin fans. I think it charted in the US, but probably not very high. It had a dance mix in the clubs.

But I hated that a great new wave band was in Top Gun. Joe is probably right, nothing represents Reagan's America like that piece of shit movie. I loathe loathe loathe that movie with the heat of a million suns. I hated how popular it was and what that said about our culture.

The only good thing to come out of it was this monologue given by Quentin Tarantino from the sleeper movie from the 90s called Sleep With Me. Tarantino didn't make this one, he is just in this party scene with this rant about Top Gun being about a man coming to terms with his homosexuality. It's brilliant, and from a very underrated 90s indie flick.

You guys made me realize that this whole match up is about the great Georgio Moroder! (to be pronnounced "Móroder") who, by the way, is the mastermind behind Flashdance too... I'll go with Berlin because, who could resist a great make out song? To further understand the musical genius of Moroder, please take a look at the clip from the official song of Italy's 1990 World Cup, "An italian summer": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8BeJ5E0NHc Everybody, sing along!

Wow! He was behind Flashdance also? This guy IS magical! 🤩 Thanks for that facTOID!

The lady in the video is like the Spanish/Italian Kim Carnes!

And of course my caballero friend chooses the makeout song!! 😂 Is there a Spanish equivalent term to "ladies man"? Other than just saying, "muchacho de las mujeres"? Because that is YOU, el mejor macho del mundo! 🤣
