Hey guys, just got around to listening to this episode. Funny how this time I think I can say I agree with everything you said! Going to go Go-Go's this time. Our Lips are Sealed is not my favorite Go-Go's song, but it was trail-blazing in its time. Counting Belinda and Jane Weidlin later in the decade, they truly spanned the entirety of the 80's - something Hall and Oats did not do.

Yes John, this is great, but am I the Oates or is Joe the Oates??? 😂

Agree on the trailblazing aspects of the Go-Go's being undeniable.

H&O had a ton more hits, but the GoGo's just captured the sound and the feel of the decade more for me.

Hey guys, you're both super Halls! But it would be interesting if there'd be some beef between the both of you at some point, the shock value would help broaden the audience. Think about it...

When you named all of Belinda's hits I realized she's the kind of artist -I'm talking South America- that plays a lot on top 40 or adult contemporary radio, but most folks don´t really know who she is. That is the case with many foreign artists.

I'm going 100% Out of Touch on this one, so is Mónica.

Have a great weekend, you guys!

Glad to hear you did the due diligence about Terry Hall and The Specials. I assumed I was going to have to use my commenting space to school you on Terry Hall.

Fascinating career. The Specials - arguably the top ska band of the era - and Fun Boy Three are pretty different musical styles. And Terry changed his look to match when he started Fun Boy Three. Terry will show up when I create my college/modern/alternative legends bracket.
