That opening was as good as the Quantum Leap closing. Laughed my ass off.

Thanks, Deni! Those two sat down and cold read this stuff for me in one take! True professionals! If you need a Joe or a Keith for the podcast that you eventually start, I can get you the contact information for two better versions! 😂

Joseph Ray Wack. (lol, I love calling you that here). How could you not rank Stevie??? She’s a goddess. I wanted to be her so bad when I was younger. She’s brilliant and there has never been anyone else like her.

This is the toughest vote yet in this whole podcast that I’ve had. These are two of my favorite artists of all time. I’m truly tempted to not choose.

But, since I’m not a coward, lol, I will choose. Neither of these are my favorite songs of these artists. I think my favorite of TP is “Refugee.” And “Edge of Seventeen” is not her best, but the 80’s is where she gained her power. She was fabulous with Fleetwood Mac, but she shook them all loose and made Lindsey Buckingham look like a schmuck in the 80’s. Success is always the best revenge. Go girl.

My favorite White Witch for the win.

If you truly want to be Stevie Nicks, you are falling short in the shawl department. You need more shawls!

To add to the layers of interconnection, I heard today that Tom's lead guitarist, after Tom's passing, joined Fleetwood Mac!

I loved the opening... took me a bit by surprised, but it was a nice way to mix it up 😊. Didn't realize there were so many 'toids linking Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks. Maybe they should both move on together?

I liked how you talked about Stevie's witchiness. Did you know that Stevie Nicks has been associated with witchcraft ever since Fleetwood Mac released Rhiannon? She even appeared in a few episodes of American Horror Story as a witch.

As for the vote, I more or less hold each of these two in equal esteem, however I agree with Keith that Tom Petty has more of a timeless classic sound than an 80s specific sound. Stevie, on the other hand, showed an ability to morph with the times, and though Seventeen is not the most 80s of her songs, when I listen to it I can hear some 80s vibes. As much as I like a good "Free-Ballin'", I'm going with Stevie on this one.

Thanks for the comments, John! 😂

The intro was fun to do, and Joe had no idea it was coming! 😂 Poor guy had to just improvise along with that bit the whole show!

The links between Petty & Nicks were many, probably more than we unearthed in just a short amount of internet research!

I did not know she was associated with witchcraft! Just a word that kind of came out while talking about her, not in any negative sense!

I always enjoy hearing how people arrive at their votes, so thanks for including your thought process! Sounds like you got it right! 😉

I was unaware, probably due to lack of MTV?

The new Keith and Joe are fantastic! I thought you guys had used AI to change your voices! Kudos to Marcia and Jen for putting together such an hilarious piece.

As for the vote, "Free Falling" still plays a lot on Argentine radio stations, but I'm going with Stevie, I just like the song better and I think it's more relevant and original.
