I got to this one too late, and voted just for fun...I guess I could've been the tie breaker on Madonna!

You voted Material Girl with me! And you would have caused a Sheena Easton tie!

Air Supply is awesome, and I'll tolerate no aspersions. After all, how would all of you aspirate without it!??!

This is an anti-gill bias and I am appalled.

I know limiting to four songs per artist is really an exercise in futility, but how in the world could you leave out Livin on a Prayer?

And seriously, Air Supply? Looks like we have our first quick exit 🤣.

Because it was used in the Hair Metal Region already. Any song that participated in another region already , got left out. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Sorry, bro!!

OK I get it. No double dipping. That's too bad...

At least you admit it’s a shoehorn.

The presence of both Air Supply and Richard Marx makes me want to puke.

Just relax and enjoy the cheesesiness, Deni! Maybe they'll face off in the first round. But I definitely miss Depeche Mode, Erasure and Morrisey.

Yeah, that's never gonna happen. I consider Air Supply to be human rights violation.

How Air Supply can even be considered in the same league as the other legends in this showdown is beyond me. They are about on par with the gum stuck to the bottom of my shoe.

hahahaha I think people will be looking to pin some of these shitty acts on one of us or both of us! In the case of Air Supply, I believe only one of us…. Will make for a fun season! 😂

And what the heck is TMBG doing on this list? Joseph?

You seriously think I'm doing a Legends of the 80s bracket and not shoehorning my favorite band in there?

Deni's avatar

Yeah, you can't really defend this band being here (as awesome as they are) when you've left out The Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order.

Joe Wack's avatar

Oh, but I can! I like them. See? Defended!

This one is gonna take the most flack probably of any selection. I can't defend it statistically. Joe loves TMBG, I love Joe, therefore here we are. Fans of near-miss bands like Loverboy/Starship/AC/DC can use this one as a lightning rod for their anger! 😂 😉

Then where is it?

The 80s-est's avatar

In 5th place? The songs on here are all Top 5 hits (1,1,3,5) and She Bop was also top 5 (I think a 4?) But in the merging of our lists, didn't make it.

This is a great way to start a Sunday! The one and only Madonna may headline this region, but with Richard Marx, Bryan Adams and Air Supply in the mix, this will surely be the battle of make out songs 😂I had a tough tome trying to decide on an Air Supply song, since they are all basically the same.

Truly, they wrote their songs with those magnetic poetry tiles, and they only had, like, twelve words.

And they made lots of money touring South America until recently!
